I'd want to rescue a dog rather than purchase straight from a breeder like I did with Sasha. I guess I'm just nervous how Sasha will react. I don't want her to think that I'm replacing her or trying to replace her. She's my baby (like we all say ). I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever been in a situation like this before and how did it end up?
I need some reassurance as to whether this is the right or wrong thing to do. |
I really applaud your desire to rescue... but realize that almost every rescue dog comes with issues. I'm not saying it won't work... but that you won't "fix" Sasha's socialization issues by getting another dog with issues. It might be resource guarding, it might be barking, it might be nipping... all of these things are manageable if you are committed to helping the new dog.
I would suggest getting another puppy, and paying a LOT of attention to socialization with both dogs.
