Just seeing this. OMG, you must have been terrified. Eddie has done that to my other dogs before, and I know how frightening and fierce the skirmishes can be. I'm so glad Thor wasn't hurt and didn't seem traumatized. It probably meant a lot to him to know you and the other human had his back and broke it up quickly. I'm not sure what a behaviorist would say, but the last few times that happened with my pack, I screamed at the top of my lungs NOOOOOOO! It startled Eddie into stopping the attack.

Could you tell what set it off? Were there toys or treats involved? Was Thor being pushy? Sounds like the other dog has fear issues.

I would definitely be among the advocates of taking him back to the store, even on leash as long as the other dogs are on leash. In fact, if the owner was amenable, I'd try a leashed visit after hours. That's what I did when Eddie attacked the others. It's good to let the victim know that you can solve the problem, and it's good to let the aggressor know that it's not tolerated. Then again, since the aggressor is not your dog, that's not your problem to solve. I could certainly understand leaving well enough alone.
