I don't know alot about Maltese, but I do know that if you want a yorkie, you need to be prepared to be that babies world because they usualy pick someone they can't live without.
you will need to make sure you have alot of time to spend with him or her. I think it is cruel for any dog to go to a home where they are locked away for all but a few hours in the evening.
