people gain weight over the years, but when they want to lose weight, they want to lose it quickly. i've read an article before of a person dying from losing too much weight too quickly because fat cells trap toxins that are in our bodies, and that person lost all the weight and all that toxin was released into her system at once.

it's human nature to want to be lazy (aka. efficient ) people WANT to believe there is a quick fix, and marketers know that, therefore they just tell people what they want to hear; what they want to believe.
