Yes the science is very clear on this, yet we humans keep looking for shortcuts. You have to remember the body is first built for survival, and when we limit food or water it goes into a different state, and tries to keep from losing any fat, because fat has kept us alive in times of famine. Each time you go through a starvation period, you body gets better at conserving fat. The first time you diet, you will lose weight the fastest, each successive attempt is slower, and weight comes back quicker each time.
