They bred their dogs--that would make them breeders. And if you gave them money for the dog, then that is buying the dog, not rescuing it. You bought a dog from someone who bred from some dishonest people who had no clue what they were doing, from what you say. Not that it matters, but it is what it is. No sense in trying to make it seem like something else. It's not like you're the first it's ever happened to.
In any event, it certainly does sound like she is in a MUCH better place now that she is with you. I think it was wise for you to hold off on the shots for another few weeks until she is a bit bigger.

And if she's eating well, then that is great. Sounds like you are doing a fabulous job with her and she is lucky to have someone watching out for HER best interest now.
