be with him and hold him telling him you love him, I went thru it with both my husbands cockers then my beautiful Tessa (cocker) and fell apart after and couldn;t stop crying for weeks....
It's out of love we have to make this hard decision but you being there is very important.
I have the memories burned in my head and if it helps....it's very peaceful and they are no longer suffering.....you will .....and it will hurt your heart for a long time - but eventually ...you can look back ...smile ....and appreciate the memories of the great dog you were blessed to have in your life.
