I think you are doing the right thing. You're right...he could get placed in the wrong hands. I would have way too many dogs if I had a big back yard. If he has seperation anxiety, do you think he will become attached to you and then have to go to another home?.....or do you think you will keep him? Either way...he'll at least be with people who will love him forever and take good care of him.  |
My husband mentioned this same thing about attachment. I know for a fact that if we get attached he will be staying right here! My husband has always picked up strays and cared for them. I told him one time a couple of years ago that if he brought home one more stray I'd choke him!! lol Seriously, he will take them in and get them healthy and then find good homes for them. I'm really nervous about taking in a 4 year old. I only have experience in raising pets from puppies...not getting them when they are adults.
