I believe you need to research by areas and you will find sort of a fair average. So many factors need to be taken in when you are trying to price a dog: Vet cost in region the dog is available, maintenance, food, grooming, just to name a few...
I know for sure vet cost in America can vary from 26.00 a visit to 276.00 depending on the state you are looking... other comparison can be the spay cost ... can vary from 30.00 dollars to 390 .00 , C-sections can vary from 300.00 to 2900.00 depending again on which state you are looking at ... so many factors need to be taken into consideration when you are trying to figure out what is a fair price . If you are living on a place where things are very expensive, including vet care and you find a very cheap puppy you need to be aware that the parents or maybe the puppy it self is not been very well vetted for an example, and may be an indicative of a BYB... but if you see also prices going towards the sky you can also get suspicious as it may be an indicative or someone who is only looking for a profit, greedy and who does not really care of what kind of a home their puppies are going to like brokers, pet Stores and there fore you may be looking into a puppy that came from a puppy mill... There are many threads here that have good information about how to find a good breeder, who responsibly loves the breed, breed for the betterment and is fair when pricing a puppy, that will take everything into consideration, who will not compromise the care of any of their dogs but will also consider the family that the puppy is going to go to ...
Something that is "too good to be true" will always be too good to be true!

I would like to point that here in my area the average adoption fee for a shelter puppy is 375.00 to 475.00 ... i know of some areas where the shelters have 5 .00 dollar adoption fees and 50.00 adoption fees. With the same routine followed. A lot need to taken into consideration !
