We found a breeder that has puppies ready for after the holidays. She is a small breeder. Very nice. We picked out the puppy that was less timid. He seems to be more outgoing and very cute. But they all are....The question that I have is the following:

While we picked out this dog and i am not changing my mind because the kids will be upset, his litter mate seems much more mellower. I am wondering if I am asking for trouble with a more outgoing dog. The Dog we chose refuses to go on his back, seems to be a barrel of energy and might be more demanding while the litter mate just hangs out, lets us rub his tummy and sleeps. Am I in for a harder time with the one we picked out? They are currently 6 weeks. We are taking "snickers" home at 12 weeks.

I wanted a less timid dog because I have children.

Thanks! We can't wait to get the pup. BTW--I just love reading this board. Everyone has be so helpful so far with my other questions. I sit on the bed at night and laugh hysterically at some of the entries! I learn a lot but it also scares me!
Well, I am a yorkie mama of only four months but i don't think any of them are real mellow at that age unless they are not feeling well or aren't strong. they should be balls of energy. I also think the kids would like a little bundle of energy. You don't say how old your kids are. You have to be very careful with kids and yorkies. One energetic child accidently tripping and falling would kill your dog and everyone would be devasted. Glad you like YT,
