Well, I don't think it was possible for him to be any more lovable than he already was. But he still marks his territory! Usually right by the bathroom door. (although the little stinker went over to Lil Bit's bed the other day and marked his territory on that, had to put it in the washing machine).  |
Work with him. Kaji was a bad marker. He tried marking everything, but I worked with him and now he doesn't. It wasn't immediate, but over time he got the message that I did not appreciate him marking our home. Outside he gets nothing but praise, but inside he gets a correction. I think of it almost like giving him an outlet for his "doggyness." He's going to be a dog, and do what dogs do. He needs an outlet for that and that's fine, as long as it's outside. I also try to make things easier for him by cleaning up as best I can. Any accident is quickly cleaned up with an enzyme cleaner so he can't go back and smell it later.
