When I first got Kaji, the first thing I did was take him to the vet for a wellness check. My heart sank when the vet said he had LP. My jaw dropped when she said he has grade 3/4 in both knees (4 is the worse they can have). I took him to 2 other vets hoping for a different diagnosis and all three came back with the same diagnosis. My vet right away jumped into wanting to schedule surgery for him, but in almost a year that I've had him, he shows no signs of discomfort. He's very active too.
Take it a day at a time and see if your baby responds to the supplements. I have heard of people who had the surgery and then their baby had an injury and had LP again. Research it, of course, and decide what you think is right for your little one.
Wow! That must have been a real shock to you! I'm so glad to hear Kaji is doing OK. I'm not going to rush into surgery. I just blame myself a little for playing so hard with her and she might have injured herself over a throw rug in the hallway! What's done is done, though. I'm going to order Cosequin in a few minutes. I pray Kaji will continue to show pain-free days ahead.
