This may sound dumb but how about training the kids?
I know what you mean I could run in the opposite direction when I see kids, but I've allowed them to approach with Teegy firmly in my control and explained the rules to them. I have a bunch of kids in my building, who just scream doggie doggie doggie, so I've sat with them and taught them how to react calmly. Try it with kids you know that your dog sees all the time.
I was out having lunch the other day and a woman came over with her little kid to say hi to Teegy because her sisters Yorkie who we had just met, isn't very nice with her. He was very gentle and so sweet.
I think I need trained around screaming kids, is there a section on Yorkie talk for me? |
