I'm fully aware of the fact that I'm not getting answers from a vet. I've called nearly a dozen vets in my area and they all say the same thing: we would need to examine him before we give suggestions and no, we don't do payment plans. I'll keep looking though.

While your comment about signing him over to a rescue angered me at first, I realized that it is an option I hadn’t considered but would be willing to take if it was the only way I could save his life.

Fortunately I don’t think he is about to expire because his condition has improved enough to where he is cognizant enough to follow his potty training and, albeit a weak and wobbly excursion, let himself out back through the doggy door to go potty.

I might be unemployed and broke but I’m not an irresponsible dog owner.
