I bought two puppies from the same breeder about a month apart. The first is all yorkie. The second I think is a morkie in spite of his papers. The second puppy is larger, his hair is much wavier, his snout is longer and narrower, his legs are longer especially his back legs, his chest is triangular and narrows in the front not boxy, he's gray and white with no beige, his ears are floppy, and his personality is much different. He's a total lapdog. Unlike the first dog who is hyper and fiesty, he's laidback and loveydovey.
We love them equally. We wouldn't change a thing. It's cool having two opposite dogs. They complement each other. But I am suspicious about the authenticity of his paperwork. The breeder we got them from also raised Maltese. When I bought the first pup, the mother and father yorkies were on premises. I got to pick from several puppies. The next time I went, there was only one puppy, and the parents were not introduced.
I suspect I was duped.
Is there any way to tell for sure? I wouldn't do a thing about it. I am not planning on breeding him anyway. But, I would do some reading about maltese to see if I should do anything differently as a pet owner. I am not able to post pics for whatever reason, but this morkie looks identical to mine.
