This week her elbow swelled up and she couldn't bend it. She has not been at her job very long and it is a small office. She has no time off so she didn't want to ask for time to go to another doctor. I finally insisted and we went the other da on her lunch hour. She was diagnosed with active inflammatory arthritis. I am just sick over it. She is so young to have this. She is on a prescription anti inflammatory until her blood work comes back. Once they verify her liver is ok she has to go on a very strong arthritis medicine. The possible side effects are pretty scary. She has to take folic acid every day as well. She has to go in every 4 weeks for blood work and to see the doctor. Please keep her in your prayers that it will go into remission and the drugs will help not hurt her. Thanks
I had this happen to me several weeks back. Kept getting pain in one shoulder then the other, back and forth until I could not move my shoulder even a fraction of an inch. Worst pain I have ever had in my life. The anti-inflammatories did little for me, but they did put me on medrol (steroid) which was amazing. Did her doctor put her on that for her elbow? I know the anti-inflammatories are standard for arthritis, but the steriod works well for more immediate relief.
I'm very sorry she is going through this, esp. at such a young age. My thoughts are with her.
