Congratulations, how exciting for you. From what I've read the Yorkshire terrier coat is one the most difficult to obtain. There is a mixture of genes that contribute to give the blue, which is actually a dark steel color not black. Dilute genes make it look like it has a metallic sheen because of the way the light reflects. It's one of the most unique coats in the dog world, and a real challenge for breeders.
