If the sugar water helped, then indeed because of his age, his little body is still unable to retain it's sugar levels.

At 8 weeks of age, you have to regulate his rest... But, I would get him to a vet and have him completely checked.

More than likely he misses his mom (which he really shouldn't be away from at all), his old environment; he's in a new location. All which contribute to stress in a wee one.
