Actually that might not be a bad thing that she will be with an older deaf dog. The deaf dog won't hear the fireworks and therefore will have no reaction. The pup will see that the older dog doesn't react, and might get the idea that the firework noise isn't a big deal.

My girl had her first exposure to fireworks last night. She was more curious than anything. I went outside with her, and it was mostly noise until someone lit one of those chrysanthemum type fireworks, that goes up into the sky and spreads out .... she ran towards it, looking up at it in the sky, as if to say "wow, what was that!" But then, she isn't bothered by thunder, either.

I'm in the camp that you try to act as if it is no big deal, and hopefully they'll pick up on your queue, but it really has a lot to do with your dog's personality, if they tend to be more timid or if they are fearless.
