did you get a health guarantee from the breeder? Kennel cough has an incubation period of 7-10 days from the dog contracting it and then showing symptoms. If you've only had him 8 days he had to have gotten it from the breeder, especially if he's been no where else but your home and hasn't been around other dogs since he left the breeders house. I'd definitely go to your regular vet as soon as they open to get him checked out to confirm kennel cough. if the vet says that's what it is then you should get the unfit for sale letter to give to the breeder. Illinois has a puppy lemon law i believe and the breeder should be held responsible for the bills of treatment if the vet states your pup was sick when you got him
