Bless your heart for saving her! She is a doll. If you need any help, feel free to PM me.
My number one rule of thumb in adoptions is a vet check prior to any conversations with people. I want to know if they have had a good vet history, including yearly exams, heartworm testing and preventatives, dentals as needed. I also ask if the vet has suggested any testing and/or treatments that were or were not followed. I want to have a good idea about what kind of pet owners they are. I do not just ask the vet's office if they know the people...I have a list of questions that I ask. Also, the first question I ask is what dogs that office has seen...and I compare it to the ones the applicant claimed to have. If the vet check is good, then I go to the next step.
