you really need to take him to the ER so he can be checked out. If kennel cough isn't treated early on in puppies it can lead to pneumonia and then death. i've seen it happen, and its very sad. Did you get him from a pet store? i'd hate to think that a breeder would have kennel cough in their home. If you take him to the vet and its confirmed that he has kennel cough then the vet can write an unfit for sale letter saying that the puppy was unfit for sale at the time you purchased him because he was sick (or incubating) with kennel cough. You can then give this letter to the pet store (or broker or breeder) to demand a refund or money for the vet bills up to the purchase price of the puppy.

Also, honestly, if you just purchased a puppy and you have no money for his care maybe you should think about returning (if you can) or rehoming him. Dogs cost a lot of money to care for, especially in their first year of life. i just find it hard to believe that you spent money to purchase a puppy but now don't have any money to care for him.

I am sorry the pup is sick and i hope you are able to take him to the vet as soon as possible
