Some members might disagree with me but from the shape of this dog I would STOP immediately looking for this dogs owner. I am sorry but I have very strong views about taking on the responsibilities of a dog and some of these responsibilities cost money. It appears that this little guy has some issues that were not taken care of even if his owners loved him. Dog ownership is more than just about love as you well know. I suspect very strongly that they did dump him which is just about the cruelest thing you can do to a Yorkie. I think it is more humane to take them to the pound rather than just dumping them and they were cowards if that is what they did
It sounds to me that you have done more for this dog in the short period that you have had him and it sounds like he is happy with your gang. Not everyone deserves a dog if they cannot take care of it.
