Yes, that's partly why I started using the DS formula - my vet thinks the MSM helps in conjuction with Glucosamine/Chondroitin. At the time DS was the only one I could find locally that had MSM. Now, I'm just used to buying it.
On something like this, if you're uncomfortable using the stronger dose, please ask your vet. I love and trust Dr. Jeff, but he only knows my dogs and their issues.
The dosage Dr. Jeff told me to use matches what I've found online for yorkies. They should have 250mg-300mg of glucosamine per day after the initial 6 week period.
