I've been using a flea and tick shampoo, and I do put conditoner on him. I hope I am getting it all off. It could be allergies... Im not sure? His skin just looks pink, the only time it scabs is if he is biting one spot a lot, and even then when I notice that I spray a hot spot releif spray to help it heal/not bother so much.....

yes there are nerves running down the back so when you pet them in a certain spot they will twitch, or if you happen to pet an itchy spot they will lift the leg to scratch almost automatically.
I'd stop using the flea and tick shampoo, especially since you just put on advantix. flea and tick shampoo can be harsh on their skin and shouldn't be used regularly because of the pesticides in it. I like espree products. They have a few shampoos that might be helpful and i think they sell them in Petco now. I like the aloe and oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. also if you want a non-pesticide shampoo they have two types. check out
