I respect him for his work with animals, but if you ever come to Australia, you will see he was far more popular in America than he here because people didn't like the yes, stereotype he encouraged. Steve Irwin was very marketable.
The
true culture of Australia goes back to the aboriginals, and visiting their land is amazing experience. My class (before I homeschooled) went on trip and we got to see traditional aboriginal dances and saw a man play the digeridoo. The boys all got to have a go. Was so cool! There's a wonderful movie called
Rabbit Proof Fence, if it in America I recommend you watch!
