Actually this is common misconception. Australia is *not* all outback and we don't all talk like bogans. I've never heard anyone other than crocodile dundee and Steve Irwin talk like that. I do live in the bush but it's really not as common as people seem to think.
Words we actually do use are biscuit (cookie) nappy (diaper) primary school (elementary school) university (college) etc.
I really disliked Steve Irwin because he perpetuate this ridiculous stereotype.
