This is just too sick for words!!!! I would definitely contact a lawyer... This woman needs to NEVER operate on another animal - EVER. I am SO sorry for Maddie's pain, and yours!!!! I think she likely has talked to her lawyer and will not be calling you. Part of me wants to say go to the office and force her to talk, but if I were you I'd rip her to shreds and end up in jail. I'd contact a lawyer and see what you can do to stop her from continuing to practice. Somehow, I don't think you'll be the last person this happens to if she continues to practice.
Big hugs to you and little Maddie.. she'll be back on her feet in no time... in the mean time, do what you can to keep this from happening to someone else. Make this woman know that those kinds of mistakes have consequences, and she can't hide from them (or you!) forever!!!!
