40 yrs ago Yorkies were the same size as they are now. I had tinies and meduim size and a few 8 pounders. In fact over the years a ring size Yorkie has gotten larger..the first shows I went to about 35 yrs ago, they were in the 4 to 5 pound range...here in FLorida you see a much smaller Yorkie competing then back in MD.
Goldie Stone, very well known in the history of the breed showed very tiny ones..look in some old books and you will see her tiny champions.
