Hi and welcome. As for mean people-may not mean just very attached to the yorkie breed. After being here for awhile you realize how concerned the members are about the evils of puppy mills, indiscriminate breeding and animal abuse (including neglecting health care for their pets).
Stay awhile and you will find a lot of helpful information (and helpful people).
In the off topic discussion board there is often a lot of teasing and joking going on and I guess if you are new you don't know these members and may look mean.
