I know where I can get away with taking Loki. Some of our stores at our local (outdoor) mall even state they are "pet friendly" I don't have a bag for him right now, I just put a hoodie on him and carry him. Luckily we have never been kicked out!

I get the allergies thing, because I am allergic to cats and most dogs - BUT how can people be allowed to smoke in restaurants AND right in the doorway of a place claiming to be "non-smoking" (which I am SEVERELY allergic to) but I can't bring my little yorkie into a store for 10 minutes so he doesn't have to sit in the car. A big dog can stay home for 4 hours, Loki cannot. We are good about having someone home with him 99% of the time, but if we both go out we do take him. We trade off going in places (like grocery, Target) or we take him with to places we know he can go. In the summer he goes out to eat with us (we sit outside). Gosh, Loki gets a bath before we go on these outings AND he is better behaved than most of the kids in the store!

I doubt that a dog IN A BAG is going to bother someone that much.
