We have this problem too. Loki is a chewer, but he really only likes to chew stuff he can get pieces off of. He destroys plush toys by chewing ears off, and won't chew on his durable nylabone only his flexible one. In a month he maybe gets 1/4 inch off the end? But he won't chew unless it's possible to get a piece off. He won't chew on his kong or any other hard rubber toys. I do throw them out when he gets a chunk off, but when I give him another he tries to do the same thing. He has tummy issues so no bully sticks, pressed rawhide, etc. I don't know what else to give him??
