My dogs (all yorkies) all know exactly what I'm doing all day long. They KNOW when I'm supposed to be home and when I'm not, my mom has to come by and pretend she's me.
She does pass as me for a while, but in the end, they know. They're creatures of habit and they are very bonded to you. Once they love you, they are very dependent. That's why it's soooo important to have them a playmate to kill time with if you're not going to be home all the time. Poor little thing.
