My father is a full time federal and state licensed taxidermist and i'm the biggest animal lover there ever was. I love all creatures, but I also am able to understand that meat and protein is needed for a healthy diet and have no problem with taking the life of a deer, turkey ext. in order to survive and feed the family. we use all the meat from our kills and we eat it all winter long for food. the mounting of the deer to me is like a beautiful tribute to the beauty of that animal. my father's work is like an art form. it's so precise and perfect. they last forever and are beautiful pieces of art that happen to be preserved animals. it's a very neat career and it's how we survive. if it weren't for his job we'd probably have nothing. it doesn't make that much money to be honest and most profit goes back into the business so you are always needing more money, but he loves it and it's his life. i don't think disliking someone for making a living off of using beautiful bodies of animals as art and as a tribute to their beauty is a bad thing. i know it's defin. not up to PETA standards or anything, but for some of us out there it's a normal part of life and not weird and gross at all. i just had to mention that because it hurt my feelings just a little bit that someone wouldn't like a person anymore due to their family's work. i'm not upset, but i had to at least let you guys know that there are good wonderful animal loving people out there that have different or unusual jobs to earn a living and they are normal people just like anyone else and not horrible or mean people for making a living off of something that people want to have done and buy. for the record we have the utmost respect for the animals we hunt for food and always make a clean and quick kill and have total respect for the body and the life we have taken to feed us. it's nothing barbaric or evil, it's very natural and beautiful in a way. seeing a large buck in the field is the most beautiful thing on earth, taking that life to feed the family is a hard decision, but it's part of our lives and we give thanks to God for that animal's life to feed our family. i know this can be hard to understand for some people. but that's how i grew up and it's 100% normal and everyday life for me.

that's all i wanted to say. Thanks
It's incredible sometimes hearing the other side's of stories. I consider myself a fairly considerate person and never once even thought about this. What an eye opener. I'm sorry if I hurt you.
