She could do a consultation with a board certified veterinary nutritionist. I know that our nutritionist is very experienced in treating very sick dogs that are hospitalized and I'm sure cancer falls in her area of expertise.

As for carbohydrates causing or feeding cancer, I believe that refers to refined processed carbohydrates found in white flour, sugar, or other junk. I am not sure that it applies to complex natural carbohydrates such as potatoes.
