I just scissor them. Only my show dogs get their ears shaved when their being shown. As I try to prevent this from happening. I also have found that if their is too much oil, creme on them. It makes their ears cold. Which prevents the air to gets to them, which I believe has caused my dogs leather ear. As far as conditioners go. I never put it on their ears. If some does by accident gets on them. I rinse it off thoughly. |
I have a yorkie that is probably around 12-14 years old. I have never noticed any slimy black substance anywhere on her nose or ears, but she has definitely had some hair loss on the bridge of her nose and on her ears as compared to the photos of her when we first adopted her almost 6 years ago. I was just assuming it was due to aging. I see alot of photos of older yorkies whose bridge of their noses look "leathery" .
Do yorkies normally lose hair on their nose and ears as they get older? Or should I be treating her for this?
