Shelters may be more lax than rescues. Also some people have had luck with private rehomes from Craigslist, but troll CL at your own risk.
also, older adult dogs, such as retired breeders can be placed or adopted at a lower cost. Puppies are usually the most expensive, and also have the most "up in the air" as far as looks, health, temperament, etc. |
Both my grandson's grew up from the get go with my yorkies and they were great.. and kacee was only just over three pounds.. they are now 20 and 16 and I could not have asked for better boys..
Sometimes I think it is the parents...But myself I would have to know a person pretty well before a baby of mine would go to such a young family..But there are larger yorkies that could handle children much better if your friend has given that a thought...Hope this helps
