Max slept in his xpen next to my until he was a year old. He felt safe in his pen and insisted on having the gate shut.

When he turned a year old, he decided to sleep in my bed. He is pad trained and jumps off the bed in the morning to go to his pad if he can't wait for me. If he needs to poop, he grunts to wake me up.

What kind of piddle pads do you use? Whether they are disposable or washable, they should be scented to attract the dog and to help them discern the difference between piddle pads and regular materials/household items. The washable piddle pads should be sprayed with a scent -- available at pet stores.
