Dogs can get heartworms from ONE mosquito bite and it is summer up there by you. The treatment for heartworms is painful and also can kill them. Just a little FYI for you.
I have never heard of stopping Heartworm preventatives when a dog is on Rimadyl. I guess anything is possible, but I would NOT be knowingly leaving my pup open to contracting heartworms.

I believe she says in her post that she went to a Chiropractor/Accupuncurist Vet. So apparently it was her vet that told her to not give both at the same time.
