I'm surprised the crushing trick did not work. Did you crush it into fine powder? Try mixing it in some wet food or cottage cheese.

I've also been told about a thing called a pill popper. but you would have to open his mouth. Use one hand and go over the muzzle and lift up the jowls, use your thumb and middle finger and push in behind the canines in that hollow area, and the mouth will open a bit, and use your other hand to prop open more. Then if you can, have a helper use the pill popper. Good luck. But I've had more luck with the crushing method.
