I think Patti is right; more time is needed to see if these two will get along. Male/female combinations are supposed to be the easiest for novice multiple dog owners (like I was). Patti is also right that you should do EVERYTHING first for your older dog; first treats, first fed; first leash; first out the door . . .you get the picture.

Try to pay more attention to Bailey (I know it's hard) than you are to your new puppy.

Bailey is stressed out right now; here comes a new interloper to take over her place!

But she will come around; just take things very slowly for a while. Separate them using baby gates if you need to.

Then slowly bring them together at walk time or play time and I'll bet things will be fine.

It took about a month for my dominant Westie to settle down when we brought Lucy home. Many times I had second thoughts . . but everything worked out fine. I hope yours does too.
