Did you buy him or adopt him. Does he have AKC papers and did you see both parents? Even papers don't guarantee that the dogs you might have seen were the parents.
Do you have pictures you can post?
If you purchased from a puppy mill the problem is that your purchase doesn't save him so much as it encourages the puppy miller to continue to breed for the $$$. It is hard to walk away from puppies in bad conditions but it's kind of like porn. (if people didn't buy it, they wouldn't sell it)
In any case, I hope your new little boy grows up happy and healthy. I am in love with our little Yorkie so I know the Yorkie Love!

PS, my Bella generally doesn't really shed (at least I never notice it) She mostly only loses hair during a grooming session.
