I only put Callie's harness on when we are going to have to use the leash like when we go some where. If we go on a trip out of town and are staying at a hotel she wears her harness a lot more like most of the day because my parents will take her out with them when they go out for a smoke break and its just easer to put the leash on and go. My mom used to keep harness on her dogs all the time but we started to see where it would rub them raw under there arms so she only put them on when they went for walks and the vet. Callie has the buddy belt harness and even though its soft I really see no need in having it on her all day sense we have a fenced in back yard with a doggy door and she wears a collar with her tags on it. If you have to take them out every potty break on the leash I could see where leaving the harness on all day would be necessary especially when potty training a puppy and sometimes having to do the quick dash outside because they act like they are seconds away from using the potty on the floor.
