It is a standard thing to do for a full groom. Full grooms usually incorporate nails, pads, sanitary, ears, bath, dry, brush out and/or haircut. Sometimes people just bring their dogs in for specific things like just a bath/brushout, or nails and sanitary trim without bath and haircut.
