Oh, you can do it without a demo.
Lubricate thermometer with KY Jelly (can use plastic cover if you want also).
Insert about an inch.
I'm guessing you want to use digital, so just push the button after insertion and done when beeps.
I restrain by holding Ellie under my left arm while using the thermometer with my right hand. I have her head facing behind me and her butt facing to the front. She is held still by my arm but her back end is held with my left hand. Hope that makes sense.
