I trust my vets implicitly. If they wish to take my pet out of the exam room, they know they need to give me a good reason. Funny, they used to take my cat in the back, but brought him back, bc he was so bad without me!

I did work for a vet once, and all pets were taken in the back for everything. I can tell horror stories of what happened, but I won't here, now.

I will leave it to say just be very careful. If you're not comfortable with your vet's methods, find a new vet. If my vet doesn't want me to assist, he will call a tech into the room to assist him, or I will suggest it if I'm feeling nervous or upset about my pet, and may be making my pet feel the same.
