nancy, i did get one 12" merrick bully and it smelled really bad. Do you get the smaller ones? I've still found merrick wishbones are the most consistent with not smelling, but some dogs can go through those pretty fast. katie would finish one in an evening or two, whereas Uni it takes her months sometimes.
Yeah, we get the 6 inch ones they are also thinner than the 12 inch ones, I think the larger they are the more the smell. Also remember the air is dry in AZ, and smells need moisture to produce lots of odor, so people living in a high humidity climate may experience a stronger odor. Not saying that there is no smell, but I only notice it because Joey makes me hold it for him!
