Just because someone is in the YTCA and has finished champions does not make them a good/ethical breeder. Just as someone who is not a member of the YTCA but does do all medical screens, tests, and gives at least a 1 year health guarantee is not. You have to do your homework and research this breeder, talk to real owners of her dogs, to her vet, etc. Not doing health screens is just wrong in my opinion. I have not bred for 45 years however I have bred for 20 years and I screen my dogs. I have 5th generation babies here with not one health issues in their lines, but I still screen. One can never be too vigilant with this breed. Leggs-calves-perthes, Liver shunts, MVD, Luxating patellas, to name a few are running rampant in this breed. And being a member of YTCA this breeder agreed to test her dogs, check out the website for the breeders and it is written there.
So do your homework, check many references, and check out other reputable breeders. Good luck on your search.
