When I first started my search for yorkies 4 years ago, I had a show breeder who had agreed to mentor me and sell me a pup on a co-ownership contract. I really liked the idea and knew I was interested in showing. I eventually decided not to go with her as she had no health contract other than 48 hours to get her checked at the vet. Her dogs were beautiful. But when I questioned that, she said she had nothing in her lines so no reason to give a guarantee. In my mind, if there was nothing in the lines then no reason not too. I just didn't feel comfortable. And then she told me her champion who came from a long line of champions and many show breeders I daresay would recognize the name, had grade 3 luxating patellas but it was nothing to worry about. She was very nice and I really didn't feel like she was trying to rip me off but I wasn't willing to spend $2500 on a risk like that. I guess I'm just telling my story as sometimes it does happen.....
