I gave my dogs Vectra last year with no side effects, it just didn't work. The vet recommended it because I complained that Frontline was not working and they said "they" think fleas are becoming immune to Frontline since it has been out so long.
This year I decided to try the natural route, spray and shampoo and just plain combing every night. It did not work, or I did not work it right. Isabel is allergic to fleas and was just scratching herself to death, right after a flea bath! Moses is not allergic, but he had fleas all over. I treated carpets, beds, throws, our other dog and could not conquer them. So I gave in, went to the vet and she gave me Comfortis for all 3 dogs and said to continue to use Frontline. NO MORE FLEAS! I mean in one day! I could see the fleas dropping off their bodies just hours after they took the pill. I am not fond of chemicals either, but in this case, I will swear by this pill. She gave me another dose for July and you can bet they will be taking it. |
